• Coupons, vouchers and promotional codes

A printed leaflet or flyer is a good opportunity to include a coupon, discount voucher or promotional code that customers can use when buying your products or services. Ask them to show you the coupon, voucher or promotional code when they come in store and keep track of how many are used. In order to do this, the voucher, coupon and code need to be unique to each piece of your business literature such as your leaflets or posters.

• QR Codes

A QR code is an image that can be scanned by mobile devices. When scanned, it directs the person using the mobile device to a website, business page or social media profile. They are usually placed at the bottom of a flat leaflet or poster and allow the reader to immediately interact with your brand. Tracking the URL referrer or extension number each time the QR code is scanned will enable you to see how much traffic has been generated by it.

• Ask your customers

One of the easiest and best ways to find out the success of your business literature is to ask your customers how they heard about your brand when shopping online or in store. Whether it’s asking them in person or adding the option ‘where did you hear about us’ at the checkout on a website, asking your customers will help you determine whether or not it was your business literature that brought them to your brand.
