AIDA stands for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action and it has been used as a successful marketing technique by marketers for many years. It is used to help marketers and brands develop effective and successful marketing campaigns.
The idea of AIDA is that if these principles are followed, consumers are more likely to interact and engage with a brand.
Not only is the AIDA model applied to large scale marketing campaigns, it can also be used to help brands develop an effective design for your leaflets.
A – Attention
Any leaflet design needs to grab the attention of your audience and should noticeably stand out amongst your competition’s business materials. Using bright colours and bold text is just one of the many ways to do this. If you’re unsure where to start, try collecting some leaflets from your competitors and other local businesses and decide which one stands out to you and why. This will give you an idea about how to grab the attention of your target audience.
I – Interest
Once you’ve got the reader’s attention, you need to ensure that you keep them interested. Engaging content and snappy headlines should be used to connect with your audience. Furthermore, you should make sure you get your brand’s message across simply and quickly. Avoid going into too much detail but give them enough information to leave them wanting to find out more.
D – Desire
One of the biggest marketing tactics is to make your target audience desire your product or service by convincing them they need it. Ensure your product or service sounds desirable by highlighting unique selling points and including exclusive offers. The more desirable your product, the more likely the reader is to act on that desire.
A – Action
The final part of the AIDA model is to include a compelling call to action within your leaflet. Encourage the reader to get in touch and tell them what they need to do next. Make sure you include contact details and any other information they need to know.
